The Digital Assembly 2017 will take place on 15 and 16 June in Valletta, Malta. It is an event co-organised by the European Commission and the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The Digital Assembly 2017 #da17eu, is an opportunity for stakeholders to debate, take stock and look ahead at how Europe and how its partners around the world are preparing for this digital transformation. It will also be an opportunity to have a dialogue on the benefits of the Digital Union for citizens with a special focus on our younger generations.
2017 will be a key year to assess the progress made with the implementation of the Digital Single Market strategy ahead of the mid-term review, planned for May. It is also the year during which the Commission will start preparing for the next Multi-annual Financial Framework and the role of digital within it. In short, 2017 will mark an important step towards a European Digital Union.
When and where?
The Digital Assembly 2017 will be held in the outstanding setting of the Mediterranean Conference Centre/MCC in the beautiful historic centre of Valletta, Malta on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th June.
The event starts at noon on 15 June. After a networking lunch, the event will kick off with a high-level opening ceremony and an outstanding international panel discussion.
On Friday 16 June, we will split up into four thematic working sessions on key priorities. The afternoon plenary session will be devoted to listening and discussing the expectations and ideas for the digital economy and society of our younger generations. The Assembly will conclude with a high-level closing ceremony.

We advise you to register early, since attendance will be based on the principle of “first come, first served”. Also, June is a busy touristic period in Valletta so flights and hotels could be in short supply.
Video Contest
The ‘Digital Tomorrow’ video contest has been launched in the context of the 60th Anniversary and the White Paper debate.Young people across Europe, between 16-25 years old, are creating videos on their vision of the digital world in 2025. The winners will participate in the Digital Assembly 2017 in Malta.
