An open workshop discussed the interim results of the Working Group on standardisation in support to the Digitising European Industry initiative. The Multistakeholder Platform on ICT Standardisation (MSP) and the Digitising European Industry initiative (DEI) set up a joint Working Group in March 2018 with the aim of providing a comprehensive plan to foster standardisation in support of the digitalisation of European industry. The second edition of Research to Business will be held in Pisa next 18th December 2017. The event is promoted by the Region of Tuscany in cooperation with 14 R&D Regional centers. Research to Business has the aim of disseminating the latest achievements in R&D among enterprises to promote the regional results related to Smart Industry and Industrial Modernisation and facilitating the dialogue between industry and academia. Francesco Oppedisano from NExtIN presented the association as successful case study related to Industry 4.0 during the Internet Festival event “Economia X.0” that took place last 8th October. The event was the final of a series of panels related to the new digital economies, especially those related to Industrial IoT , 5G and new production processes. Last 20th and 21st September the NExtIN representatives have been invited to attend the Central European Cooperation for Industry 4.0 event, organised by the National Research, Development and Innovation Office (NRDIO) in partnership with the European Commission Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO). The event was an occasion to interact with over 100 participants from 14 countries and covered various intriguing topics from human-robot cooperation to the data management and process planning of smart factories.
